Meet 2016 Presidential Candidate Austin Petersen

Austin Petersen 4Hello, America, I’m Austin Petersen.

I am seeking the nomination of the Libertarian Party for President of the United States.

The promise of the American Dream is freedom. Our forefathers brought forth onto this continent a new nation conceived in liberty. And I’m dedicated to the proposition that all men and women should be treated equally under the law.

I have always believed in economic freedom and personal liberty. I’m the son of hard working Missouri landscapers. I was born in Independence and raised on a horse farm in Peculiar, Missouri.

My summers, growing up, were spent in the fields and on job sites alongside my father who was a green beret in the army’s special forces. He taught me love of country, independence, and self-reliance.

While growing up on the farm, I learned how to ride a horse, bale hay, drive a tractor, and how to use and respect a gun. My father taught me that the second amendment guarantees all the others.

My journey into coming into your consideration for President has been the result of over a decade of civic activism, grassroots coordination, and public education.

Fox News’ senior judicial analyst, Judge Andrew Napolitano, once referred to me as the right side of his brain.

For the last decade, I have labored behind the scenes advancing the agenda of Libertarian causes from big to small.

As the Libertarian Party’s volunteer coordinator in 2008, I increased volunteer activism far above and beyond any of my predecessors. I also created the LP’s Internship Program, launching the careers of several other young Libertarian professionals. I also pioneered the use of media at the LP Headquarters.

I believe that the problem with Libertarianism is not that our ideas are incorrect but that they are being marketed incorrectly. As a third party, we may not have the money to be able to buy expensive, Madison Avenue ad spots. But through the power of new media, we can use our creativity to create content that can win the hearts and minds of the American people.

I hope that you will join me in my campaign to take over the government and leave everyone alone.
